Use soft natural light
Morning or late-afternoon light is usually kinder than harsh midday sun. Position yourself so the lenses catch a little glow without blasting your cat's face. If your cat moves out of the light, let the session end.
Clear the frame
A blanket, window seat, or simple chair can make the coral frame and smoky lenses pop. Remove clutter near your cat before you begin so you do not need to fuss while they are already wearing the shades.
